With school starting in a few weeks, the district is reminding families of the digital resources available on to ready their kids for the first day of school and to support them throughout the new school year.

Launched in 2020, 黄色视频 ONE is an extensive digital library for students, parents and educators to discover a wealth of learning materials, ranging from lesson plans incorporating household items, to newspaper articles encouraging literacy, to mindfulness exercises promoting mental well-being.

Students

Students can filter based on grade level and subject, with resources for reading and writing, math, science, social studies, art, physical education, ADST (applied design, skills and technologies) and languages.

New this year, , featuring the district’s Navigating an AI Future video series and recordings of two in-person presentations on AI:

Also new, the district has shared a series of videos titled for Grade 6 to 8 students, focused on such issues as habits with technology, online relationships, cyber safety, misinformation and your digital footprint. The series was created by Common Sense Education, a U.S. non-profit organization dedicated to providing trustworthy information and education to students and families, in collaboration with the Public Library Association and AT&T.

A selection of is also available in the form of interactive games and courses that promote online safety and digital citizenship. The selection includes:

• , a lesson that introduces digital theft, media literacy, sharing and harassment concepts through a series of exciting Minecraft activities;
• , an engaging online game that teaches kids about digital safety, hackers, phishing and cyberbullying while promoting skills for appropriate online behaviour;
• , a self-paced course for Grade 6 to 9 students that teaches modern digital health concepts such as digital emotional intelligence, digital dependency, online privacy and media literacy;
• , a simple page for younger students to learn about safety, kindness, respect and truthfulness while navigating the internet;
• , a series of online games to educate students to protect their private information, practise digital etiquette, seek out credible sources and find balance between the online world and the real world.

Parents

The parent resources expand upon Common Sense Education’s online offerings, with . These include information on how to have conversations about technology with children at any grade level, increasing media literacy, managing well-being, balancing screentime, maintaining privacy and security, and more. There is also an article on developing and instilling , with tips for practising mindfulness, good communication and what to do about cyberbullying.

Parents can also sort on 黄色视频 ONE by their child’s grade level and look through ideas for engaging with literacy, numeracy and social and emotional learning.
